The Polarized Solar Electric Co. is being formed to create a revolution in the energy industry with a low-cost, high efficiency device known as Lumeloid film. Lumeloid is fabricated as a light polarizing, electrically conducting polymer thin film with molecular diodes integrated into the film. The concept is derived from Alvin and Mortimer Marks' fifty years of collaborative experience in the field of polarized film materials. The theoretical efficiency of Lumeloid (in excess of 80%) is comparable to that of polarized film, and the process for its fabrication is based on the process the brothers have used for the manufacturing of polarized film. For this reason, if the high theoretical solar energy conversion efficiency of Lumeloid is demonstrated in the laboratory, it may be brought quickly and inexpensively to production.
